Pit Boss PB336GS The Story

DISCLAIMER. I do not work for PitBoss, nor am I compensated by them. I do now own two of their products

I looked long and hard at the larger BlackStone griddles, I know we did not need one that large, and the little PitBoss at <$100. Turned out to be a good Purchase. The top metal is very close to cast Iron, which means we can season it the same.

This was intended to be run on the small green cylinders. but they do not last long, and are pricey. I have a new 20# cylinder in our shed. Ordered a hose, not knowing at the time, the 20# is at a higher pressure. It fired right up, and ran very HOT, hotter than expected. I adjusted it down to just below 500. I then laid coat after coat of canola oil. The result is show below.

I contacted PitBoss, and they explained the pressure difference, had to get a pressure regulator to use 20# cylinder. That done, it worked just awesome. Nothing Stuck!

AFter the cook, and before cutting off, I scrapped the food stuff off, and most of the oil. Wiped it down with a paper towel, and the result is below.

The next morning I wiped it down again, and put the cover on.

Will this unit be a “Keeper” YES! Do I recommend it YES! Any regrets NO!
